The name of this anonymous but beautiful lake in Gurez Valley is Tourmaline Lake. This is located on a six- to eight-hours trek from the village of Janwai in Gurez Valley, the lake is rarely visited by outsiders. When we go to Taobat from Kel, on the way comes Janwai village from where the trek to this lake starts. From Janwai to the north, there is a beautiful mountain range in the middle of a dense forest, behind which this beautiful lake is located. There are government and private mining of granite, tourmaline, mica in the mountains around the tourmaline lake and this lake is named tourmaline because of the precious stone tourmaline found here.
