Satsar Mala Lakes (ست سر مالا جھیل) is a series of seven lakes in one place, 9 km ahead of Lulusar, an epitome of merging waters is Sat-Sar Mala lakes. The lakes are located In Kaghan valley. A few km ahead of Besal and trek starts just after the main point of Lulusar lake. Water from each lake falls in the next one, that is why they are named as Sat-Sari Mala Lakes. Sat Sar Mala Lakes is a very rare destination of Upper Kaghan Valley. 5 of these lakes are in cascades and the water from top most lake falls into next and so on. Surkhail Lake is the highest lake of Sat Sar Mala and is the top most cascade as well. The altitude is 14,100 ft. The lakes are accessible for a very short period of time and are snowbound for most part of the year.
The best time to visit is between Aug-Sep. There is a small village between Jalkhad and Babusar Pass called Gittidas and the trek starts just a turn before this village.
